NZI Modular Helmets

NZI modular helmets come in four models: the Combi 3 Duo, Minimod Duo, Fastback Duo and Combi 2 Duo. All of them have an internal sun visor, hence the "Duo" in the name, and a chin bar that lifts so you can talk, drink or put your glasses on without taking the helmet off. What sets them apart is the mechanism, the equipment and the style, and the Combi 3 Duo is also one of the most popular helmets across the whole brand.

Combi 3 Duo, the best equipped

It is the successor to the Combi 2 Duo and the model with the most features: ECE 22.06 P/J approval, a sun visor, a visor prepared for a Pinlock insert with a first opening position to let air in, a glasses channel and two deflectors, one at the nose against fogging and one under the chin bar against noise. It comes in black, matt black, white, matt anthracite and Nardo grey, and with several graphics: Solid, in grey and yellow or black and matt red; Daily, in black, orange and matt anthracite; Metric, in three matt combinations; and Orbe, in black and anthracite with yellow or turquoise, the one riders order most.

Minimod Duo: camera-ready and anti-fog

The Minimod Duo, also ECE 22.06 P/J, stands out for its practical touches: the chin bar latch is metal and reinforced, the visor has an anti-fog treatment and can be locked, the lining is designed to be worn with glasses and the helmet is compatible with an action camera, handy if you film your rides. There are plain versions in matt black, matt anthracite and pearl white, and graphics such as Watson, in white, black and blue or in black and red; Smart, in black and matt anthracite; Involt, in grey and matt black; Meta, in black and silver; or Rainbow, in matt green with rainbow colours.

Fastback Duo: the chin bar that goes to the back

On the Fastback Duo the chin bar does not stop above your forehead: it keeps rotating until it sits at the back, as on an open face helmet. It is P/J approved, made in two shell sizes, and has ducted ventilation, a channel for prescription glasses, reflective details and an approved sun visor. You can have it in white, Nardo grey and matt black in the Solid series, and with the Shadow graphic, in white, red and blue or black, anthracite and matt silver, and the Summum, in black and matt red. What this rotation changes and what P/J approval means is explained in our modular helmets section.

Combi 2 Duo, the previous generation

The Combi 2 Duo keeps the essentials: a thermoplastic shell in two sizes, a sun visor, a visor with several positions that is prepared for Pinlock, with the insert sold separately, and a removable chin deflector that keeps cold air off your neck. It comes in white, matt black and the Sierra graphic, in black and matt yellow.

Which one suits you?

• If you tour with prescription glasses: the Combi 3 Duo or the Fastback Duo, with a dedicated channel for the arms.
• If you film your rides: the Minimod Duo, ready for an action camera.
• If you will often ride with it open in town: the Fastback Duo, which with the chin bar at the back stays balanced, with nothing in front of your face.
• If fogging is your winter problem: the nose deflector and Pinlock insert of the Combi 3 Duo, or the anti-fog treated visor of the Minimod Duo.
• If you want the widest choice of finishes: the Combi 3 Duo, with thirteen versions.
• If you have a small head: the Combi 2 Duo, with a shell in two sizes, is the modular in our women's helmets selection, where we explain what to look for in XS and XXS sizes.
