Motorcycle Mirrors

New motorcycle mirrors change the front end as much as a screen does, but they are also a safety part: they decide what you see behind you when you change lanes. In this section you will find Puig mirrors for the handlebar, bar end, fairing and screen, and Rizoma mirrors in machined aluminium with black, silver or grey finishes.

Where they mount

On the handlebar, with a thread

This is the most common fitting on nakeds, adventure bikes, customs and scooters. Most bikes use an M10 x 1.25 thread and some M8, and on certain makes one side has a left-hand thread, so check what each model states. Puig gives the thread in the name of several, such as the Z2, GP.1 or Top-Tech I "M10/125 and M8", while on others, like the Bladed, Bond, Fold, Look or Diablo, the name already tells you they are handlebar mirrors.

On the bar end

Bar-end mirrors replace the bar ends, as the Puig Top-Tech I bar-end version does. They give a cafe racer look, widen your view past your elbows and clear the middle of the bars. Once the stock mirrors come off, the threaded hole is left exposed: Puig mirror thread caps cover it up.

On the fairing or the screen

Sports bikes and many maxi-scooters have their mirrors mounted on the fairing, with a base specific to each model. For them there are Puig Aileron mirrors, with versions for the YZF-R1, Panigale, S1000RR, TMAX 560 or Forza 750. Puig's universal Z3 mirrors, on the other hand, fix to the screen with a 70-degree arm or a straight stem.

The Rizoma approach

Rizoma handles the fitting with adapters bought separately: Direct Mount for the handlebar thread (M10 x 1.25 or M8, including left-hand versions), End Mount for the bar end and others specific to certain models. The Stealth mirrors also have a different part number for each bike, so check on the product page that yours is listed.

How to tell if a mirror is road legal

Look on the glass or housing for the E-mark: the letter comes with the code of the issuing country (E9 is Spain, E11 the UK) and the approval number. The regulation sets a minimum mirror surface, which is why the smallest, most minimalist designs often go without approval. Inspectors will also check that they are securely fixed and let you see behind without your arms blocking the view.

Details you notice on the road

• Vibration: a firm joint and a short stem vibrate less; tighten the locknut properly and check it again after the first few miles.
• Folding: Puig Fold mirrors fold back for parking or getting the bike into the garage without removing them.
• Finish: anodised aluminium, black, silver or carbon look, like the RS2, to match your levers and caps.

Each brand has its full section: Puig mirrors, Rizoma mirrors and Highsider mirrors. And if you are refreshing the whole front end, our motorcycle accessories include matching indicators, levers and screens.
