NZI

NZI helmets have been on Spanish roads for decades, and the range covers almost every kind of riding: an open face for the scooter commute, a full face for the open road, a modular for touring and a kids' helmet for a young passenger, in plain colours or with a huge variety of graphics. Here you have every NZI model we sell, split into three families, and what is worth knowing to choose between them.

A brand born in Yecla

NZI was founded in 1983 in Yecla, in the Murcia region of Spain, and its name comes from the initials of its founder, Nazario Ibáñez. Today the range runs from kids' helmets to full faces with a carbon fibre shell, and includes collaborations such as the Pasarela collection, created with the Spanish designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, and the limited Replica Aspar edition of the Street Track 4, a tribute to the racer Jorge Martínez Aspar.

Three families of NZI helmets

Open face

This is the family with the most versions. It runs from the Rolling 4 Sun, a classic-looking open face with dozens of graphics, to the Magma with its long visor and the Ringway 2 Duo, with a sun visor and provision for an intercom. The Hopper and Art put style first, the Pasarela wears Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada's designs, and the Helix, Single II and Bambino are for children. You will find them all among the NZI open face helmets.

Full face

Three styles live side by side here: urban and sporty with the Trendy, Eurus, Go Rider and Wake; retro with the Street Track 4, Flat Track 2 and Revival, which sit alongside other brands in our cafe racer and vintage helmets; and carbon or composite shells with the Freccia Duo, Mad Carbon and Racing Carbon View. The Activy 3 is the entry point to the family and also comes in a kids' version. They are all in the NZI full face helmets.

Modular

There are four: the Combi 3 Duo, the Minimod Duo, the Fastback Duo, whose chin bar swings right round to the back, and the previous Combi generation, the Combi 2 Duo. The first three are approved for riding with the chin bar up or down. We compare them one by one in the NZI modular helmets.

How to read an NZI name

Names always follow the same order: brand, model, graphic, colour and helmet type. In "NZI Street Track 4 Outline White & Blue Matt Full Face Helmet", Street Track 4 is the model and Outline the graphic. A few words give useful clues:

• Duo: the helmet has an internal sun visor. On the Rolling 4, the word that tells you so is Sun.
• Stream: on full face helmets, versions with added aerodynamic details, such as the rear spoiler on the Trendy 3 Stream or the Wake Stream.
• Solid: one or two-colour versions without graphics, on models such as the Trendy 2, Combi 3 Duo or Fastback Duo.
• Kids or Bambino: helmets for children, with their own sizes.

What many NZI helmets share

• Two different outer shells depending on the size on models such as the Street Track 4, Ringway 2 Duo, Revival or Fastback Duo, and three on the Wake.
• Nugema®: the thermoplastic used for the shell of the Rolling 4 Sun, Street Track 4, Flat Track 2 and Pasarela, and of the Helix, Single II and Activy kids' helmets.
• A removable, washable lining, a micrometric buckle across almost the whole range and visors treated against scratches on both sides.
• ECE 22.06 approval on recent launches such as the Magma, Revival, Ringway 2 Duo or Combi 3 Duo; each product page states which version applies.

How to measure your head and what to look for on the label is covered in our motorcycle helmets guide.

The most popular

Among the NZI helmets riders order most are the Combi 3 Duo modular, especially in the Orbe graphic; the Trendy 3 Stream, Revival and Trendy 2 full faces; the Pasarela and Ringway 2 Duo open faces, and the Minimod Duo modular. If you need a small size, our women's helmets section explains which models go down to XS and XXS.
