Puig handguards

Puig handguards are searched for above all because of one specific part: the extension, which bolts onto the hand guard your adventure bike already has from the factory and widens the area that blocks wind and rain. Puig also makes full handguards, universal or model-specific, for bikes and scooters that come with none.

Extensions, bike by bike

• BMW R 1300 GS and its Adventure: in five tints, from clear to matt black. There are also extensions for other BMWs.
• Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin, Transalp and X-ADV share one extension; the 2016-2019 CRF1000L has its own.
• Yamaha Tracer 7 and Tracer 700, in clear, light smoke and dark smoke.
• Triumph Tiger 900 and Tiger Sport 850, in clear.
• Several KTMs, with an orange option to match the bike.

Clear barely changes the look of the bike; smoke and black stand out more and go with a screen in the same tint. As with screens, the clear and smoked parts are acrylic.

Full handguards

The universal 3488 and 9652 are two different shield shapes, each in clear, light smoke and dark smoke, and there is a third one in black. The model-specific ones are made for one bike, nearly always in matt black ABS plastic: MT-03, Z650 and Z900, Versys, NC750X, R 1250 R, V-Strom 1000, Scrambler 1100 or TRK 251; the XMAX one, by contrast, is clear, and several Yamahas get a carbon-look version.

If you are torn between a full hand guard, an extension or another brand, our motorcycle handguards section compares them whatever the make. On an adventure bike with a tall screen, Puig deflectors close the gap between the screen and your hands, and for everything else from the brand, go to Puig.
