Puig Bar Ends

Puig bar ends are the simplest way to add colour to the ends of your handlebar, and the brand makes them in so many shapes and finishes that the challenge is choosing. Here you will find its current and earlier lines, most of them for specific models and some in universal form, with the same colour code as Puig's other anodised parts.

The Puig bar end lines

• Sport and Speed: the two lines with the most part numbers, in anodised aluminium, with model-specific versions for hundreds of bikes and universal versions. Size is what sets them apart: the Speed sticks out about 20 mm from the bar and weighs around 36 g; the Sport, about 40 mm and 68 g.
• Balance: black body with rings, and the ringed versions include every coloured ring so you can change the accent whenever you like.
• Thruster: inspired by a propeller and made of two parts that can be bought together or separately.
• Short, Short with ring and Long: the long-standing lines, 20, 30 and 40 mm long respectively, still available for many models.
• Race: an earlier design left in a few colours.

Nine colours in one letter

The letter at the end of the part number is the colour: N black, P silver, O gold, A blue, R red, V green, T orange, L lilac and Y titanium. The number stays the same whatever the colour, so the Speed 21024 bar ends for Yamaha come in black, blue, red, gold, silver, green, lilac or titanium with the same number and a different letter. The same code appears on the brand's grips and other anodised parts, which makes matching them easy.

Thruster: body and cap sold separately

On the Thruster, the body is always black and carries the bike-specific number, while the coloured cap is common to all of them: 9420 plus the letter. That is why the names show two part numbers joined by a plus sign, such as 9878N+9420A, a body for several Hondas and a blue cap. You can buy a set of caps in another colour to change the look without removing the body, and there are Thruster spares for each model if one gets damaged in a spill.

Weight and vibration

Stock bar ends are usually heavy because their job is to damp handlebar vibration. If you swap them for shorter, lighter ones, some bikes transmit more buzz to your hands at certain revs, especially singles and twins. If that is your case, choose the Sport over the Speed, which weighs almost half as much, and check the weight on the product page before picking another line.

For a matching cockpit, pair your bar ends with Puig levers and Puig grips in the same colour, or replace them with a bar-end mirror from the Puig mirrors range. To see Rizoma's bar ends too, go to motorcycle bar ends, and for the rest of the brand, to Puig.
