Camo and Military Motorcycle Helmets

Military motorcycle helmets and camo helmets take the look of aviation and the armed forces, with army greens, matt finishes, aeronautical graphics and aged-metal effects, and put it on a helmet approved for the road. Almost all of them are open-face, the format that best recalls the helmets of 1940s pilots and dispatch riders, and they suit custom bikes, scramblers and classics in particular.

Aviation, army green and aged metal

• Aeronáutica: the NZI Rolling 4 Sun with an aviation-inspired design, in Azul, Italiana and Japan versions as well as the original, for anyone after an aviator or fighter-pilot look.
• Army green: the Tucano Urbano El'Tange in matt Airborne Green, an open-face with a clear visor ready for a Pinlock 70 insert, an internal sunshade and a quick-release micrometric buckle.
• Aged metal: the Rolling 4 Sun in matt Oxide Black has a finish that recalls rusted steel, and the matt Tristar completes the series.

The Rolling 4 Sun models have a drop-down sun visor and a shell made in two sizes, so the style does not get in the way of everyday riding in town.

What about a real army helmet?

A soldier's helmet, whether steel or Kevlar, is designed to stop shrapnel and fragments, not to absorb a blow against the tarmac in a motorcycle crash: it has no EPS liner to cushion the impact and no retention system tested for it, and it carries no ECE approval. That is why it is not legal on the road. If you want an approved army-style helmet for your bike, the look has to come on a motorcycle helmet: check for the ECE label sewn onto the chin strap.

Which bike and which kit

The military look suits cruisers and bobbers, where our custom helmets also work, and scramblers and classics, which have more choice among our vintage and retro helmets. For the full aviator look, add a pair of classic riding goggles over the shell and a leather or military-style jacket. If you want a light open-face in another colour, browse all our open-face helmets; sizing and approval are explained in our guide to motorcycle helmets.
