The Akrapovič slip-on exhaust for the Kawasaki ZX-6R 2009-2026 replaces the standard silencer and delivers a deep, lively sound. It is designed to save weight and improve performance without an ECU remap.
The performance figures come from Akrapovič tests against a standard exhaust and may vary between bikes. An optional carbon-fibre silencer bracket and link pipe are available for track use; fitting the optional link pipe invalidates the slip-on’s EC/ECE approval.
- Construction: carbon-fibre outer sleeve, end cap and heat shield, with a stainless-steel inner structure and link pipe. The shield covers the exhaust valve in the pipe.
- Weight: 1.9 kg versus 4.4 kg for the standard system on the test bike, a reduction of 2.5 kg.
- Power: measured increase of 1.4 kW (1.9 hp) at 9,000 rpm.

Check your bike’s specification before ordering: for model year 2024 onwards, Akrapovič identifies this as a replacement for the original exhaust bearing the E1 KHI K 729 approval marking. It was developed and tested for EU-specification bikes, so fit and performance may differ in other markets.
