Dual-sport motorcycle gloves

Dual-sport motorcycle gloves have to last a whole trip: motorway first thing, a mountain pass at midday and the odd stretch of gravel track along the way. Here you will find the Rainers gloves made for that mixed use, with summer and winter models and the brand's Touring line, which includes two women's versions, Delia and Gina.

One trip, two climates

On an adventure bike the miles pile up and the temperature changes with altitude and time of day. That is why many travellers pack two pairs: a vented one for the heat, such as the Road and G-28 (black or black with fluo) or the Dinamik, and a warm one for cold mornings and rain, such as the Everest, Denver or Shadow. The Touring line is split the same way: Fusion, Police, Ultraflex, Sandro-R, Dinamiko-R or the brown Rodeo for the warm months, and KR1, Sintra or Street for winter.

How they differ from a road glove

• Grip: standing on the footpegs on a track, you hold the bike with your hands far more than when seated. Look for a reinforced palm with good feel.
• Cuff: adventure jackets often have wide cuffs; a glove that closes over the sleeve keeps wind and dust out.
• For enduro or technical trails every day you need an off-road glove, thinner and unlined; these ones are built for travelling.

If you ride gravel often or travel in winter, a set of handguards shields your fingers from branches, stones and wind, and lets you keep the summer pair on for longer. Standards and sizing are explained in the motorcycle gloves guide, and if the cold worries you most, compare them with our winter motorcycle gloves.
