Highsider Reflectors

The Highsider reflectors bounce back the light from other vehicles' headlights so the bike can be seen at night, even when the tail light is off or has failed. They come in red, for the rear, and amber, usual on the sides, and they differ mainly in how they are fixed.

By how they fix

• Adhesive: the 91 x 25 mm rectangular one, the universal 123 x 12.5 mm ones and those with an adhesive film, which stick to a clean, flat surface.
• Screw-on: the M5 threaded-stud one in two sizes (101 x 13 and 122 x 15 mm), the 98 x 19 mm strip-mount one and a 123 x 12.5 mm unit that combines a screw and adhesive.
• With their own bracket: the vertical-bracket and universal-bracket ones, which come with the part that fixes them.

What the rear reflector has to meet

The rear one has to be red, not triangular and carry its E-mark; fitting a small tail light does not exempt you from it. Of the whole range, only the 91 x 25 mm adhesive rectangular one is listed as approved in its name, so that is the detail to look for on the product page. The usual place for it is the mudguard or the plate holder: you will find the brackets in the Highsider number plate holders, and the rest of the rear-end parts on the Highsider brand page.
