Accessories for the Aprilia Scarabeo 300 Special

The Aprilia Scarabeo 300 Special is a scooter suited to everyday journeys around town. That sort of riding involves frequent stops, time spent parked and trips in changing weather. Accessories for this bike therefore need to make sense both while you are riding and when you leave it between journeys. Think about your usual route, where you park and whether you ride throughout the colder months.

What riders usually fit to the Aprilia Scarabeo 300 Special

For a scooter used around town, these accessory types address different parts of the same routine: securing it at a stop, dealing with the weather and using the controls in traffic.

• Security locks: a scooter used for errands may be parked several times in one day, sometimes only for a short stop. A lock adds a security measure whenever you leave your Scarabeo 300 Special, whether that is outside a destination on your route or after the final journey home.
• Covers and leg covers: an outdoor cover is useful when the scooter stays parked in rain, sun or dust. A leg cover serves a different purpose, making colder journeys more comfortable. For a bike used regularly rather than kept for occasional rides, it is worth considering both time spent parked and time spent in the saddle.
• Handlebar accessories: town riding means regular turns, braking and low-speed manoeuvres, so the handlebar area is part of almost every journey. Accessories in this category focus on where your hands meet the scooter and its controls; their relevance comes down to how you use the bike in traffic and when parking.

A short commute with several stops puts different demands on the Scarabeo 300 Special from a longer journey followed by hours parked outdoors. Start with the part of your routine you most want to address, rather than treating every ride as though it needs the same equipment.
