Accessories for the Benelli 491 ST

The Benelli 491 ST is a scooter suited to getting around town and making everyday journeys. For that kind of riding, frequent stops, time spent parked and the feel of the controls matter more than luggage for a long tour. Thinking about how and where you use your scooter helps put the accessories on this page into context. Whether the 491 ST takes you across town regularly or is used for shorter local trips, it makes sense to focus on the parts of daily riding you notice most. This page covers accessories for the Benelli 491 ST from 2001 to 2008.

What riders usually fit to the Benelli 491 ST

• Brakes: town riding involves repeated stops at junctions, traffic lights and queues. If the 491 ST is part of your regular journey, brake components deserve particular attention as part of its upkeep. They relate directly to the stop-start pace of urban use, rather than to a modification made purely for appearance. Braking is among the accessory brands listed for this scooter.
• Covers and leg blankets: a cover is useful when your scooter spends part of the day parked outside, keeping it protected while it is not being ridden. A leg blanket addresses a different part of the same routine: riding across town when the air is chilly. Both make sense when the 491 ST is used for practical journeys rather than being prepared for a long-distance trip.
• Handlebar accessories: steering through turns, parking manoeuvres and slow-moving traffic keeps your hands busy on a city scooter. The handlebar area is therefore worth considering when you want the controls to feel right for your usual journeys. Think about the streets and riding conditions you encounter regularly, rather than equipment intended for track riding.

For a scooter used around town, the most useful additions often address ordinary moments: setting off, stopping and leaving it parked until the next journey. Decide which of those situations matters most in your routine before narrowing down the accessories shown here.
