Accessories for the BMW C Evolution

The BMW C Evolution is an electric scooter suited to everyday urban journeys as well as trips that take in faster roads. Those different settings put different demands on an accessory: frequent parking and low-speed manoeuvres make protection worth considering, while a longer stretch beyond the city brings wind exposure into focus. What you fit depends less on a particular kind of journey than on where you spend most of your riding time. A commute that crosses town and then follows a ring road, for example, gives you reason to think about both.

What riders usually fit to the BMW C Evolution

The accessories available for this scooter centre on two practical concerns. One relates to close-quarters use around streets and parking spaces; the other becomes more noticeable once the route opens up. Neither requires changing how you ride, but each addresses a part of the journey you may deal with regularly.

• Protectors: a scooter used around town is often parked alongside other vehicles and steered through tight spaces. Protectors are intended to help look after the areas they cover when minor knocks or scuffs are a concern. For a C Evolution that spends much of its week making short trips with repeated stops, they make particular sense as an everyday addition.
• Screens: on a faster road, airflow matters more than it does between traffic lights. A screen can deflect some of the wind reaching the rider, which is useful if your journey includes sustained riding outside the centre. On the C Evolution, it is worth thinking about the screen in terms of those open sections rather than the few minutes spent parking or negotiating city streets.
