Accessories for the BMW C 650 Sport

The BMW C 650 Sport is a sports-oriented maxi-scooter suited to everyday commuting and trips beyond the city. The most useful accessories depend on the balance between those rides. Frequent stops put the focus on comfortable controls, while longer stretches on faster roads make wind protection and room for overnight luggage more relevant.

What riders usually fit to the BMW C 650 Sport

• Screens: worth considering when your commute involves dual carriageways or your weekend route takes you further afield. Managing wind exposure becomes more important on longer journeys, rather than the short bursts between junctions that make up much of city riding.
• Levers: repeated braking in urban traffic makes the feel of the controls particularly noticeable on the C 650 Sport. Lever shape and distance from the grip affect how your fingers rest on the controls during a stop-start journey across town.
• Mirrors: moving between city streets, ring roads and faster routes makes a useful rearward view important. Their position relative to your arms matters when you settle into your normal riding posture, particularly for keeping track of traffic before changing lanes.
• Luggage: useful if your C 650 Sport handles both the working week and weekends away. Extra carrying space gives you room for a change of clothes on an overnight trip and becomes especially welcome when packing for a ride with a pillion.
• Security locks: a practical addition for a scooter regularly left on the street outside work or while running errands. They provide an extra obstacle to theft, whether you are parking for a full working day or making several shorter stops around town.

For a commute dominated by faster roads, wind protection is a sensible priority. If weekend trips are just as frequent, give luggage space equal consideration.
