Accessories for the BMW F 650

The BMW F 650 suits a riding routine that mixes weekday commuting with weekends on quieter roads and easy tracks. This trail bike’s varied uses call for different priorities: wind protection matters on longer stretches of tarmac, while protective accessories become more relevant during slow manoeuvres or ventures off the road. Add luggage to the equation and the same bike can be prepared for a longer trip.

What riders usually fit to the BMW F 650

Start with the journeys your F 650 makes most often, rather than trying to equip it for every possible outing.

• Windscreens: help deflect airflow once you leave urban streets behind. With the upright riding position typical of a trail bike, wind protection is particularly useful for sustained road riding and motorway stretches between more interesting routes.
• Protection: helps limit damage to the areas covered in a fall or knock. It makes particular sense for an F 650 used on easy tracks, where uneven surfaces can make low-speed manoeuvres less straightforward than on tarmac.
• Luggage: gives you somewhere to carry work essentials or kit for a weekend away without keeping everything in a rucksack. For an F 650 serving as both commuter and touring bike, carrying space is useful well beyond the occasional holiday.
• Stands: support the bike when parked or, depending on the type, during maintenance. A trail bike may stop in anything from a garage to a roadside parking area, making a secure resting position relevant throughout a mixed riding week.
• Levers: deserve attention when frequent clutch and brake use is part of your urban commute. Comfortable reach also matters on winding roads, where your hands repeatedly work the controls over the course of a longer ride.

For everyday journeys, focus on the additions you will use regularly. When longer rides become the priority, wind protection and practical luggage space take on a bigger role.
