Accessories for the BMW F 900 GS

The BMW F 900 GS is an adventure bike suited to road touring and exploring beyond the tarmac. That mix gives accessories different jobs: luggage carries what you need for a weekend away, protection matters on rougher tracks, and rider contact points become especially important when standing on the pegs. The right priorities depend on whether your usual ride involves long motorway stretches, winding back roads or more time on trails.

What riders usually fit to the BMW F 900 GS

• Levers and footpegs: these are key contact points when switching between seated road riding and standing on uneven ground. Footpegs provide support for your riding boots, while the levers play a central role in controlled braking and clutch work through slower, more demanding sections.
• Protectors and crash bars: worth considering for routes that venture onto loose or uneven surfaces. They help shield the areas they cover against impacts and falls, including the sort of low-speed tumble that can happen when manoeuvring a loaded adventure bike.
• Screens: wind protection becomes a bigger consideration when reaching the trails involves a lengthy road journey. A screen helps manage airflow on those stretches, while your off-road riding position and view of the ground ahead remain important considerations for mixed routes.
• Luggage: makes room for clothing and essentials on multi-day trips. For an F 900 GS used both on roads and tracks, planning what you carry means balancing touring needs with space to move around on the bike when the surface becomes more challenging.
• Phone mounts: give your phone a place to serve as a navigation reference when a route links minor roads and trails. They are useful on unfamiliar journeys with frequent turnings; stop somewhere suitable before studying maps or changing your route.

For predominantly off-road outings, focus first on contact points and protection. If most of your mileage comes from road touring, give wind protection and luggage organisation more attention.
