Accessories for BMW F900GS ADVENTURE

Accessories for the BMW F 900 GS Adventure

The BMW F 900 GS Adventure is an adventure touring bike suited to long road journeys, trips with a pillion and detours onto unpaved tracks. Accessories should reflect that mix of riding: carrying luggage for several days makes different demands from a solo weekend exploring back roads. Wind protection, contact with the controls and protection against minor knocks all deserve attention alongside luggage.

What riders usually fit to the BMW F 900 GS Adventure

• Panniers: a practical way to carry clothing and touring essentials without wearing a rucksack all day. On multi-day Adventure trips, plan your luggage around whether you ride solo or with a pillion, including what you need to reach during roadside stops.
• Protectors and crash bars: worth considering for unpaved detours and low-speed manoeuvres with luggage aboard. They help limit damage to the areas they cover during minor knocks or stationary drops, rather than serving as a reason to take greater risks off the tarmac.
• Footrests: particularly relevant when a day involves both seated road miles and standing on the pegs along tracks. The supporting surface and foot position affect how you place your legs and move on the bike as the terrain changes.
• Levers: long touring days can combine flowing bends, slow traffic and sections requiring frequent use of the controls. Lever shape and how it works with your gloves matter when your hands spend hours moving between the grips and the brake or clutch.
• Screens: a useful focus if motorway links and exposed roads account for much of your mileage. Think about airflow in relation to your height and seated posture; screen size alone does not tell you how comfortable a touring setup will feel.

For two-up trips, consider luggage space alongside room for your pillion to sit and climb aboard comfortably. If tracks feature regularly in your plans, give foot support and protection equal attention.
