Accessories for the BMW G 650 GS Sertão

The BMW G 650 GS Sertão suits riders who want to link road miles with trails, whether on a day out or a longer trip. That mixed riding calls for a considered set-up: protection for ventures off the tarmac, comfortable contact points for seated and standing riding, and wind protection for the road sections between trails.

What riders usually fit to the BMW G 650 GS Sertão

A Sertão used for commuting and occasional weekend exploring has different priorities from one prepared for touring on mixed surfaces. These accessories address the practical demands of both, without treating every ride as a fully loaded expedition:

• Protection: uneven ground and slow manoeuvres on trails bring a different set of challenges from everyday road riding. Protective accessories help limit damage to the areas they cover if the bike goes over at low speed, making them particularly relevant for off-tarmac use.
• Footrests and handlebars: moving from sitting on road sections to standing on trails changes how you support yourself on the bike. Considering your foot and hand positions together helps you plan a riding position for both, rather than focusing solely on seated comfort.
• Screens: long road stretches on the way to a trail can make wind protection a priority. A screen helps deflect airflow, making this a useful area to focus on when your Sertão spends as much time covering distance as exploring back roads.
• Luggage: cases provide space for clothing and personal belongings on overnight trips. If your journey includes trails, keep the packing list focused on what you need rather than carrying everything you might take on a purely road-based holiday.
• Phone mounts: useful when navigating a route that connects minor roads and trails, a mount keeps directions visible instead of leaving your phone tucked away in a pocket. Set up the route before leaving and stop somewhere safe whenever you need to change it.
