Accessories for the BMW G 650 Xmoto

The BMW G 650 Xmoto is a supermoto made for active riding, whether you are threading through town or taking the longer way home on a winding road. That makes the riding position particularly relevant when choosing accessories. It also puts everyday use into the picture: a bike ridden regularly has different practical demands from one brought out only for a weekend ride. For the Xmoto, it makes sense to think about how you steer it, where you leave it between journeys and what you want from the ride itself.

What riders usually fit to the BMW G 650 Xmoto

• Handlebars: the position of your hands matters on a bike you guide through frequent turns. Around town, that means junctions and low-speed manoeuvres; on a twisty road, it is part of moving from one bend to the next. Handlebars are worth considering if your priority is the feel of the riding position.
• Covers and blankets: regular trips often leave the Xmoto parked for hours before the next journey. This category is relevant when you are thinking about those pauses, as well as riding on colder days, rather than just what the bike feels like once you are on the move.
• Exhausts: an exhaust is an option if you want to change the sound that accompanies a lively supermoto ride. It addresses a different part of the experience from a handlebar: how you hear the Xmoto rather than how you sit and steer it.
• Filters: these belong to the less conspicuous side of looking after a bike used for commuting and rides beyond town. If the Xmoto sees a mixture of short journeys and longer outings, it is worth giving routine care some attention alongside more noticeable accessories.

For a G 650 Xmoto from 2007 to 2009, start with the journeys you actually make. City riding, bend-filled roads and the time the bike spends parked each point towards a different, practical reason to choose an accessory.
