Accessories for BMW K1300 R

BMW K 1300 R accessories for everyday rides and open roads

The BMW K 1300 R is a sporty naked bike suited to winding roads, everyday journeys and longer weekends away. How you spend your time on it should guide the accessories you fit. Regular motorway stretches put wind protection higher on the list, while country-road riding brings foot support and riding position into focus. Overnight trips add a practical need for luggage space.

What riders usually fit to the BMW K 1300 R

• Screens: useful when reaching your favourite roads involves a lengthy run on faster routes. A screen helps redirect some of the airflow away from your torso, making sustained riding on this naked BMW more manageable. Its height and shape matter when balancing shelter with the bike’s exposed appearance.
• Protectors: worth prioritising if your weekend rides are mixed with urban parking and low-speed manoeuvres. They help limit damage to the areas they cover in a fall, a practical consideration on a naked bike with many components left exposed rather than enclosed by bodywork.
• Footrests: foot support matters both when linking bends and when spending several hours in the saddle. On the K 1300 R, their shape and contact surface deserve attention as part of the riding position, rather than treating them purely as a styling detail.
• Number plate holders: a way to change the rear-end appearance while keeping the emphasis on the BMW’s sporty naked styling. They make particular sense for a visually focused setup used mainly for short road rides, where luggage capacity is not the main concern.
• Cases: turn the focus towards weekends away by providing room for clothing and personal belongings without carrying everything in a rucksack. That extra carrying space becomes particularly useful with a pillion, when two people’s essentials need to fit into the same trip.

For regular longer journeys, address wind exposure and carrying space before cosmetic details: those are the additions most closely tied to how you spend the day riding.
