Accessories for the BMW R 1250 GS Triple Black

The BMW R 1250 GS Triple Black suits riders who mix road touring with weekend rides and occasional unpaved tracks. With an adventure bike used this way, accessory priorities depend on where you spend your time: wind protection for motorway miles, a comfortable riding position for long days and protection for the more exposed parts when the surface becomes uneven.

What riders usually fit to the BMW R 1250 GS Triple Black

• Screens: worth considering when a day out involves long motorway stretches before reaching quieter roads. A different screen can change how much wind reaches you, so think about your seated sightline as well as the airflow you want in warmer weather.
• Protectors and crash bars: particularly relevant when touring includes ventures onto tracks. They can help limit damage from a low-speed fall, whether it happens on loose ground or while manoeuvring the GS at a stop on an uneven surface.
• Footpegs: your footing matters during long periods in the saddle and when standing up on an unpaved track. For this mix of riding, the useful considerations are how your boots sit on the pegs and how easily you can move between positions.
• Handlebars: hand position affects the strain on your arms and shoulders over a full day of touring. Riders who also stand on the pegs need to consider that position alongside their seated reach, rather than focusing on road comfort alone.
• Phone mounts: useful for following navigation on touring holidays and finding your way along unfamiliar back roads. On the GS, keeping directions visible without obscuring the instruments helps organise the cockpit for longer journeys; set your route before setting off.

For mostly road-based riding, start with wind protection and riding position. If tracks are a regular part of your routes, give bike protection and support when standing equal attention.
