Accessories for the BMW R nineT Urban G/S

Classic trail styling gives the BMW R nineT Urban G/S its character, while everyday road riding and weekend trips shape the accessories worth fitting. For commuting, protection and a comfortable riding position make sense; for longer outings, a screen can take priority over purely cosmetic changes.

What riders usually fit to the BMW R nineT Urban G/S

• Screens: Worth considering if your weekend rides involve open roads and longer distances. A screen helps reduce wind exposure, bringing a practical benefit to a road-focused Urban G/S rather than simply changing its retro appearance.
• Protectors: Daily town use often involves tight parking spaces and low-speed manoeuvres. Protectors help limit damage to exposed areas in a stationary drop or slow-speed fall, making them a useful starting point for a regularly ridden commuter.
• Handlebars and footrests: These let you adapt the position of your hands and feet. On an Urban G/S used for both city journeys and winding-road outings, those contact points matter when finding a riding position that remains comfortable beyond the daily commute.
• Suspension: A relevant consideration if your favourite routes include uneven road surfaces. Suspension changes put the emphasis on ride comfort and road behaviour, which may matter more than cosmetic details when you spend longer stretches in the saddle.
• Number plate holders: An option for giving the rear of the Urban G/S a tidier look. Their main role in a retro-inspired build is visual, making them a different priority from accessories intended to improve wind protection or alter your riding position.

Choosing parts for the 2017-2020 and 2021-2024 versions

The R nineT Urban G/S has changed over the years, so the 2017-2020 and 2021-2024 versions do not share every accessory. Screens, suspension components and stands are examples where the correct parts can differ between versions. Choose your bike’s year on this page to see only the accessories that fit yours.
