Accessories for the BMW R1200 ST

The BMW R1200 ST is a sport-touring motorcycle at home on longer road rides as well as winding routes. That mix shapes the accessories worth considering: protection matters when the bike is used regularly, while the points where you support your weight become more noticeable after hours in the saddle. How and where you park it between rides can be just as relevant as the riding itself.

What riders usually fit to the BMW R1200 ST

• Protectors: a useful consideration for a bike that sees regular road use, stops along a route and the occasional tight parking space. They focus on vulnerable areas when a minor knock or a stationary drop could otherwise interrupt your plans.
• Stands and supports: useful when the R1200 ST is parked between trips or you set aside time to look after it at home. A secure way to support the bike can make routine cleaning and other maintenance jobs less awkward.
• Handlebar accessories: hand position can make a difference over a full day in the saddle. Accessories for this area are worth a look if you want to pay attention to your riding position without forgetting the bike's appeal on twistier roads.
• Covers and blankets: relevant if the motorcycle is left outside or stands unused between longer journeys. They are also worth considering in relation to the weather you ride or park in, particularly when your trips extend into colder months.
• Filters: regular mileage brings routine maintenance into sharper focus. For a motorcycle you use for both day rides and longer trips, keeping on top of service items is part of making it ready for the next outing.

Start with the way you use your R1200 ST most often. Frequent rides, touring days and maintenance at home put different demands on protection, support and the parts you interact with while riding.
