Accessories for the CFMOTO 450S

On the CFMOTO 450S, wind protection is worth thinking about if your rides range from short local trips to longer stretches on the road. Airflow may be easy to overlook at lower speeds, yet become more noticeable when you spend longer in the saddle. What makes sense to fit therefore depends on where you ride most often and how much shelter you want while keeping the riding feel you enjoy.

What riders usually fit to the CFMOTO 450S

Windscreens are the accessory available here for the 450S. They change how the air reaches your upper body, which matters more on sustained road journeys than on a brief ride across town. Puig is among the brands offering screens for this model.

• Windscreens: these can lessen direct exposure to the wind when you take the 450S onto faster roads. For mostly short journeys, you might favour a less prominent level of shelter; for longer rides, consider how much coverage you would like around your chest and shoulders. The useful question is how the screen fits the journeys you actually make.

More screen area does not tell the whole story of how a ride will feel. Your position on the bike also affects where you meet the airflow, so it helps to think about how you normally sit when riding. That is particularly relevant if you use the same 450S for quick everyday journeys and for longer days out: the wind plays a different part in each.

Rather than treating a screen as a one-size-fits-all addition, use your usual routes as a guide. Around town, wind exposure may be a minor concern; on the open road, you may notice it much more. That distinction makes it easier to decide what you want from a windscreen for your CFMOTO 450S.
