Accessories for DERBI URBAN

Accessories for the Derbi Urban

The Derbi Urban suits the sort of riding that takes you from one everyday stop to the next. Around town, that can mean parking several times, setting off again and finding an unfamiliar address before you get home. Accessories for this kind of use need not change the character of your bike. It is more useful to think about the knocks and scuffs that can come with frequent parking, and about having directions to hand when your route varies.

What riders usually fit to the Derbi Urban

Two types of accessory are particularly relevant to those daily journeys. One is concerned with exposed areas of the bike; the other helps when you need to follow a route across town. Which matters more depends on what your usual day looks like.

• Protectors: worth considering if your Urban is regularly parked and moved again throughout the day. They are intended to look after particular areas when minor knocks or scuffs are a concern. Think about where your bike spends its time between rides: frequent stops make protection a more immediate consideration than equipment aimed at long-distance touring. Different protectors cover different areas, so the part you want to look after is the useful starting point.
• Phone mounts: useful when a ride involves several addresses or streets you do not know well. A mount keeps your phone in place for navigation rather than leaving you to take it out at every stop. Set the route before moving off, and only check directions when it is safe to do so; your attention belongs on the road and the traffic around you.

For the Derbi Urban, it is worth starting with the part of daily riding that takes the most thought. If parking is the recurring concern, look at protectors; if finding your way changes from trip to trip, a phone mount may be more useful.
