Accessories for DUCATI DESERT X

Ducati DesertX accessories for road and trail

The Ducati DesertX is an adventure bike suited to rides that take in both tarmac and unpaved tracks. A weekend on winding roads calls for a different setup from a trail ride or a longer trip with luggage. Where you spend your riding time matters: standing on the pegs puts the focus on foot support, while long road sections make wind protection and carrying space more relevant.

What riders usually fit to the Ducati DesertX

• Footpegs: moving between seated road riding and standing on loose surfaces makes foot support particularly important. Peg shape and platform area affect how your boots sit and how easily you can shift your position as the terrain changes beneath the bike.
• Levers: flowing bends and slow trail sections place different demands on clutch and brake operation. Lever shape and reach matter when you are repeatedly working the controls off-road, especially with gloves on, rather than simply cruising along an open road.
• Crash bobbins and bars: protection is a practical priority when unpaved tracks are a regular part of your riding. These accessories help limit damage to the areas they cover in a low-speed fall, something worth considering when tackling uneven ground.
• Screens: long stretches of tarmac between trails make wind protection useful on the DesertX. Screen height and shape deserve thought if your trip also involves slower off-road riding, where a clear view of the ground ahead remains important.
• Panniers: carrying clothes and equipment becomes essential on trips lasting several days. For a DesertX used on both roads and tracks, luggage width matters alongside capacity, particularly when the route narrows and leaves less room to pass obstacles.

For mixed-surface trips, position your luggage so it leaves room to move while standing. A touring setup should still let you change position comfortably when the tarmac ends.
