Accessories for the Ducati DesertX Rally

The Ducati DesertX Rally is an adventure bike with a strong off-road focus, suited to rides that combine tarmac miles with unsurfaced trails. Preparing it for that mix means thinking beyond protection alone. Foot support and access to the controls matter when standing, while wind protection and luggage become more relevant on the road sections between trails.

What riders usually fit to the Ducati DesertX Rally

• Footpegs: Standing on the pegs is part of riding this bike away from tarmac. Peg shape and surface affect how your boots sit and how you shift your weight, while their position also matters for a comfortable seated stance on longer road stretches.
• Brake and clutch levers: Slow trail manoeuvres and flowing road riding place different demands on your hands. Lever choice affects how you reach and operate the controls, particularly when moving between sitting and standing rather than staying in one position throughout the ride.
• Protectors and crash bars: Uneven ground and loose surfaces make low-speed falls a consideration on trail outings. These accessories help limit damage to the areas they cover, with individual component protectors serving a different purpose from bars positioned around more exposed sections of the bike.
• Screens: A screen earns its place when a day on the trails starts with a lengthy motorway run. Diverting airflow can make those miles less tiring, but the screen should also leave a clear view of nearby terrain and room to move when standing.
• Panniers: Multi-day trips call for somewhere to carry clothing and travel kit. If your route leaves the tarmac, luggage volume is only part of the decision: load distribution and space to move around the bike also deserve attention.

Consider your seated and standing positions together. A setup that works for long road days should still leave you free to move when the surface changes.
