Accessories for the Ducati Monster 696

The Ducati Monster 696 is a naked bike suited to city journeys and days out on winding roads. Those two uses put different demands on your accessories: commuting brings frequent stops and parking manoeuvres, while longer rides make wind exposure and riding position more noticeable. Useful additions address the parts of the ride you want to improve, whether that means taking some wind off your chest or feeling more comfortable at the controls.

What riders usually fit to the Ducati Monster 696

• Screens: without a full fairing, longer stretches on open roads can mean sustained wind pressure on your upper body. A screen helps deflect that airflow, particularly when your favourite twisty routes involve a motorway journey to get there.
• Protectors: exposed areas are part of a naked bike’s layout. Protectors help limit damage to the parts they cover from minor knocks or stationary drops, making them a practical consideration for a Monster regularly parked and manoeuvred around town.
• Levers: frequent clutch and brake use in city traffic makes finger position and comfort worth considering. Changing the levers can help tailor your contact with the controls, especially when stop-start commuting accounts for much of your riding.
• Handlebars and footrests: these determine where your hands and feet sit on the bike. They are worth considering together when adjusting your riding position for the balance of weekday journeys and longer outings on winding roads.
• Number plate holders: a styling choice for a less visually bulky rear end that suits the Monster’s naked-bike appearance. Their appeal is mainly aesthetic, rather than the weather protection or riding comfort offered by other additions.

For mixed city and weekend use, tackle what you notice most on the move first. Wind exposure and your position at the controls are more useful starting points than purely cosmetic changes.
