Accessories for the Ducati Monster 821 Dark

The Ducati Monster 821 Dark suits weekday journeys through town just as well as weekend outings on winding roads. As a naked bike, it puts wind exposure and riding position firmly on the list when deciding what to fit. The useful starting point is how you spend your time on it: dealing with traffic, covering longer road distances or enjoying a favourite stretch of bends.

What riders usually fit to the Ducati Monster 821 Dark

• Screens: worth considering when a ride involves motorway links or longer stretches of open road. A screen can redirect some of the airflow away from your torso on the Monster, with its shape and height affecting both the shelter it provides and the appearance of the front end.
• Protectors and crash bobbins: useful for a Monster that mixes weekend rides with regular parking and low-speed manoeuvres around town. They are intended to help limit damage to the areas they protect during a stationary drop or low-speed fall; protection is not just a consideration for track use.
• Handlebars and levers: these help tailor the relationship between your arms, hands and controls. Frequent clutch and brake use in urban traffic makes a comfortable hand position worthwhile, while a suitable handlebar position helps you avoid riding with overly tense arms on twisting roads.
• Footrests: where your feet sit influences your whole riding position on this naked. For winding-road outings, a useful foot position lets you move with the bike; for longer days, the amount of bend at your knees deserves just as much thought as a sporty stance.
• Number plate holders: an option for changing the rear-end styling and drawing attention to the tail. On a Monster used mainly for town riding and short weekend runs, this is primarily a visual choice, rather than a change aimed at wind protection or riding comfort.
