Accessories for the Ducati Monster S4R

The Ducati Monster S4R is a sporting naked bike suited to winding-road outings as well as everyday journeys. Equipping it for both means thinking about your riding position, exposed components and rearward visibility rather than appearance alone. If your usual Sunday ride sometimes becomes a weekend away, luggage deserves a place in that plan too.

What riders usually fit to the Ducati Monster S4R

• Handlebars: where your hands sit matters both on a flowing stretch of bends and during stop-start town riding. On the S4R, this is an area to consider when working towards a relaxed reach, with room to move your upper body rather than bracing yourself through your wrists.
• Protectors: a naked bike leaves mechanical parts more exposed than a faired machine. Protection can help limit damage from a stationary drop or low-speed fall, making it particularly relevant if your Monster regularly encounters tight parking spaces and awkward manoeuvres on the daily commute.
• Mirrors: mixing urban traffic with open-road riding calls for a useful view behind you. On the Monster, a compact appearance should not come at the expense of seeing past your arms, especially when changing lanes or keeping track of traffic approaching from behind.
• Exhausts: the exhaust contributes strongly to the appearance of a sporting naked such as the S4R. It is a way to personalise the bike's finish and overall look, where exposed mechanical components are part of the visual appeal rather than hidden by bodywork.
• Luggage: cases become useful when a short blast turns into an overnight trip. Carrying your essentials on the bike rather than your back makes sense for longer outings, while trips with a pillion also call for thought about the space you both need.

For commuting, start with riding position, visibility and protection. For weekends away, plan luggage around what you actually carry and whether you usually ride solo or with a pillion.
