Accessories for the GasGas MC 450F

The GasGas MC 450F is a motocross bike built for riding on dirt tracks. That shapes the accessories worth considering: falls, ruts and flying debris put exposed parts in the firing line, while time between sessions is often spent cleaning and preparing the bike. Rather than adding equipment for the sake of it, it makes sense to think about what helps on the track and what makes work in the paddock easier.

What riders usually fit to the GasGas MC 450F

• Protectors: a motocross bike has to deal with loose stones, contact with the ground and the occasional fall. Protectors help look after exposed areas when you are practising starts, working through rutted corners or riding different track surfaces. They are particularly relevant if you want to limit minor damage that can interrupt a day of riding.
• Levers: braking and clutch control matter when setting up for a corner or adjusting your pace over uneven ground. The reach and feel of the levers can affect how comfortable the controls are as you move between seated and standing positions. They are also among the parts exposed when the bike goes down.
• Stands and supports: once the riding stops, a stable support makes it easier to clean the MC 450F, inspect areas that have taken a knock and work around the wheels. It is useful when you are getting the bike ready for another session rather than leaving those jobs until later.

For this bike, protection and control are closely tied to riding, while a stand earns its place between sessions. Think about the demands of the tracks you ride and the maintenance you do there: those are the practical reasons to choose one accessory over another.
