Accessories for the GasGas XC250

The GasGas XC250 belongs on dirt rather than tarmac. Stones, ruts and tight sections make different demands on a bike from a straightforward road ride, so the accessories worth considering are those that suit the way you use it off-road. Protection matters when the going gets rough; comfortable control matters when you need to make small adjustments; and a reliable way to support the bike makes life easier between rides.

What riders usually fit to the GasGas XC250

For this model, a few practical choices stand out if your riding takes you along uneven tracks and through slower, more technical sections:

• Protectors: rocks and narrow passages can bring the bike into contact with the ground or its surroundings. Protection for the parts it is designed to cover is worth considering if you often ride over loose terrain or pick your way through awkward sections. It is also useful to think about where your bike tends to take a knock when balance is hard to maintain.
• Levers: on a twisty trail, you may be working the controls far more often than you would on an open road. Levers can make sense when you want a feel that suits your hands, or when an existing one has been damaged in a fall. That is particularly relevant on routes that mix flowing stretches with slow turns and rutted climbs.
• Stands and side stands: once a ride is over, a steady place to rest the XC250 makes cleaning off mud and checking the bike less awkward. A support can also be handy during a stop on the trail. Think about whether you need somewhere to park the bike while riding or support for jobs you do back at home.

The most useful addition depends on where you ride and what happens between outings, not just on time spent moving. A rocky route and a muddy one can put different demands on the same bike.
