Accessories for the Harley-Davidson Pan America RA1250

The Harley-Davidson Pan America RA1250 is an adventure bike suited to touring, whether your route stays on the road or takes in unsurfaced tracks. Setting it up means balancing comfort over long distances with room to move when riding off the tarmac. Wind protection, riding position, bike protection and luggage therefore make useful starting points, rather than treating every journey as a purely road-based trip.

What riders usually fit to the Harley-Davidson Pan America RA1250

• Screens: Long motorway stretches make wind protection worthwhile, helping to reduce the airflow reaching your upper body. If your Pan America also heads onto trails, balance that shelter with a clear view of the ground ahead, including when you stand on the pegs.
• Footpegs and handlebars: Consider these together when setting up your riding position. Adventure touring calls for a comfortable seated posture on the road, but you also need to reach the bars naturally when standing up on an unsurfaced section.
• Levers: Comfortable access to the controls matters during full days in the saddle and slow manoeuvres with luggage aboard. Choose them alongside your handlebar setup so your hands can operate the controls without an awkward wrist position.
• Protectors and crash bars: These are worth considering for routes involving tracks or stops on uneven ground. They can help limit damage from minor knocks and stationary drops, both practical concerns when preparing the Pan America for adventure travel.
• Luggage: Multi-day rides call for space to organise clothing and travelling essentials. Plan around whether you ride alone or carry a pillion, leaving room for what each person needs rather than filling every available space before setting off.

For mixed road and trail use, settle your riding position and packing needs first; they provide a practical basis for the rest of your Pan America setup.
