Accessories for the Harley-Davidson Pan America Special RA1250ST

The Harley-Davidson Pan America Special RA1250ST suits road touring and days spent exploring winding routes. That kind of riding puts comfort at the controls, foot support and wind protection ahead of purely cosmetic changes. How you divide your time between motorway stretches, back roads and town traffic provides a useful starting point for deciding what to fit, particularly when several hours in the saddle are part of the plan.

What riders usually fit to the Harley-Davidson Pan America Special RA1250ST

• Screens: wind protection becomes a priority when a touring route includes lengthy motorway sections. A screen helps redirect airflow around the rider, while its height and shape affect both shelter from the wind and your view of the road from your normal riding position.
• Levers: riding through towns means more frequent use of the clutch and brake than cruising on open roads. The shape where your fingers rest and the distance to the lever matter when a long day's ride includes repeated stops and slow traffic.
• Footpegs: secure foot support matters on winding roads, while leg position becomes increasingly noticeable over longer distances. The peg surface and position contribute to how you support yourself and place your feet throughout a day of touring.
• Handlebars: bar width and sweep influence the position of your arms and wrists on the Pan America. They deserve attention when your trips combine sustained motorway riding with tighter roads that involve frequent changes of direction.
• Crash protection and bars: these can help limit damage in some low-speed falls. For touring use, that protection is particularly relevant when turning around, parking or manoeuvring through confined spaces at a stop, rather than only while riding along the route.

Consider the bars, levers and footpegs together when planning a touring setup. Their relationship shapes your riding position, so treating each as an isolated change can miss the bigger picture.
