Accessories for the Harley-Davidson Softail Fat Boy FLFB

The Harley-Davidson Softail Fat Boy FLFB is a cruiser made for unhurried rides, whether that means an afternoon out or a longer run along the open road. How you ride it makes a difference to the accessories worth considering. Suspension affects how the bike feels throughout a journey, while luggage gives you room for the things you need when a short ride turns into a weekend away. On this page, you will find suspension and pannier options for the 2018 to 2020 model years.

What riders usually fit to the Harley-Davidson Softail Fat Boy FLFB

• Suspension: worth thinking about if you spend hours in the saddle and want to tailor the bike’s response to the way you ride. On a Fat Boy used for relaxed road trips, the feel over uneven surfaces matters just as much as the way the bike responds through a sequence of bends. It is also worth considering whether your usual ride is solo or with a pillion and luggage. A brief local outing and a loaded trip place different demands on the same bike.
• Panniers: give you somewhere to carry clothes and personal belongings without wearing a rucksack on the move. They are particularly useful when you take the Fat Boy away for a weekend or ride with a pillion, as what you carry needs to fit around the space available on the bike. Think about the length of the trips you actually take: what is enough for a leisurely afternoon ride may be less useful when you stay away overnight.

Öhlins and SW-Motech are among the accessory brands available for this bike. If your rides range from short outings to longer trips, it helps to decide whether the priority is how the bike feels on the road or what you need to carry.
