Accessories for the Harley-Davidson Softail Slim FLSL

The Harley-Davidson Softail Slim FLSL is a cruiser suited to unhurried road rides, weekend outings and personal touches. How you ride yours helps set priorities: riding position matters on longer stretches, protection has a practical role around town, and luggage becomes useful when an afternoon out turns into a weekend away. Styling changes can complement these everyday needs rather than take their place.

What riders usually fit to the Harley-Davidson Softail Slim FLSL

• Protection: guards help shield the areas they cover from knocks during low-speed mishaps or parking manoeuvres. They make particular sense on a Slim used regularly around town, where frequent stops and parking are part of the ride.
• Handlebars: changing the bars can adjust your riding position as well as the Slim’s appearance. For a cruiser that combines town journeys with longer country-road rides, where your hands sit deserves as much thought as the styling.
• Lighting and indicators: lighting deserves attention if your weekend rides often finish after dusk. Indicators also offer scope to personalise the cruiser’s appearance while keeping clear signalling central to riding through junctions and busy streets.
• Number plate holders: these change how the plate fits into the overall look. On a custom-styled bike such as the Slim, they are worth considering alongside indicators and mirrors when creating a consistent visual finish.
• Cases: carrying clothes and everyday essentials on the bike avoids wearing a rucksack throughout a road trip. Cases suit weekend escapes, but also give your Slim a practical role when you need to carry belongings during the week.

Choosing parts for your model year

The Softail Slim has changed over the years, so parts for the 2013-2017 and 2018-2021 versions are not always interchangeable. Protection, number plate holders and lighting are among the main differences in accessory fitment.
