Accessories for the Harley-Davidson Softail Standard (FXST)

The Harley-Davidson Softail Standard (FXST) is a custom cruiser that suits unhurried rides, from a short run along local roads to a longer trip. How you ride it helps determine what is worth fitting. Braking matters on familiar roads as well as on days when you are carrying luggage; somewhere to stow your belongings changes the experience of a weekend away. There is also room to pay attention to the smaller details that shape the bike’s appearance.

What riders usually fit to the Harley-Davidson Softail Standard (FXST)

• Brakes: when you spend time on the open road, predictable braking is worth thinking about, particularly if your rides sometimes include luggage. Brake accessories give you a way to focus on this part of the FXST according to how you use it. Braking is among the brands available for this bike.
• Luggage: cases make it easier to carry a change of clothes and everyday essentials without wearing a backpack. They are particularly relevant if a relaxed day ride sometimes turns into a weekend away. Think about what you actually take along: a short local ride and a trip with an overnight stop place different demands on your luggage. The selection for this Softail Standard includes SW-Motech.
• Indicators: on a custom cruiser, these are a visible detail as well as the way you signal your intentions in traffic. If you are working on the look of your FXST, it makes sense to consider how the indicators sit with the rest of the bike. Highsider is one of the accessory brands represented here.

Start with the journeys you make most often rather than treating every ride as a touring trip. That makes it easier to decide whether carrying your kit, paying attention to braking or refining the bike’s details should come first.
