Accessories for the Harley-Davidson Softail Standard FXST/I

The Harley-Davidson Softail Standard FXST/I is a custom cruiser made for unhurried rides. That makes practical accessories worth considering alongside the pleasure of being on the road. Protection may matter when you regularly take the bike out, while the way it is supported becomes relevant whenever you stop. A short ride with frequent pauses places different demands on a bike from an afternoon spent covering miles, even when the riding itself remains relaxed.

What riders usually fit to the Harley-Davidson Softail Standard FXST/I

The accessories available for this Softail Standard focus on two practical areas. Neither is about changing its character on the road; they address what happens during everyday riding, when manoeuvring at low speed, and after you pull over.

• Protectors: worth considering if you want to look after areas of the bike that are more exposed during regular use. On a cruiser you may take out for a leisurely ride as readily as for a shorter local trip, the most useful protection is the kind that addresses the situations you actually encounter. Think about your usual stops and low-speed manoeuvres as well as time spent riding.
• Stands and side stands: relate to how you support the Softail Standard when the ride is over or you pause along the way. They are also relevant if you spend time attending to the bike at home. For riders who enjoy making several stops on a ride, parking is part of the experience, not merely what happens after it.

Brands represented in the selection include Puig. Whether your rides are long or short, it helps to consider what happens both on the road and when the bike is stationary.
