Accessories for the Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom XL1200C

Relaxed road rides, weekend outings and everyday journeys all suit the Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom XL1200C. With a cruiser like this, your reach to the bars and exposure to the wind deserve as much thought as appearance. The most useful additions depend on whether you spend your time in town, enjoy longer country rides or take luggage along for a weekend away.

What riders usually fit to the Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom XL1200C

• Mirrors: a way to shape the bike’s custom look while keeping a practical view behind. In town traffic, mirror position should let you keep track of surrounding vehicles without shifting out of your normal riding posture.
• Handlebars: your reach to the grips affects the position of your arms and back. For unhurried days on the road, it makes sense to prioritise a relaxed riding position rather than choosing a shape purely for its looks.
• Suspension: worth considering when solo outings give way to rides with a pillion or luggage. Matching the suspension to the load matters for comfort, particularly when your favourite country roads have an uneven surface.
• Screens: help take some wind pressure off your upper body once you leave town. For longer road rides, this can make exposure to the airflow less of a deciding factor in how far you want to travel.
• Luggage cases: provide room for clothing and essentials on a weekend trip. If your Sportster doubles as your getaway bike, carrying those items on the motorcycle avoids spending the ride with them in a rucksack.
