Accessories for HARLEY DAVIDSON SPORTSTER 1200 ROADSTER XL1200R

Accessories for the Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Roadster XL1200R

The Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Roadster XL1200R is a custom bike with a roadster feel, suited to everyday rides as well as a run along winding roads. How you use it makes a difference to what is worth fitting: a regular commute brings different priorities from an afternoon spent riding out of town. Think about the way the bike responds, your riding position and how much wind you want to deal with on longer stretches.

What riders usually fit to the Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Roadster XL1200R

• Suspension: worth considering if you want to tailor the Roadster’s feel to your riding, particularly on a series of bends or a longer ride. Öhlins is among the accessory brands available for this bike.
• Protection: helps look after exposed areas when the bike sees regular use. It makes sense if your Sportster covers city journeys during the week and rides out at the weekend.
• Handlebars: affect where your arms sit and how the bike feels from the saddle. On this Roadster, that can matter when a short outing turns into a few hours on the road.
• Mirrors: let you consider a useful view behind you for both traffic and open roads, while keeping the bike’s appearance in mind. Rizoma is one of the accessory brands listed for the model.
• Screens: can take some of the wind off you on faster roads without changing the nature of a roadster ride. They are particularly relevant if your usual journeys include sustained stretches outside town.

Sportster 1200 Roadster XL1200R versions by year

The bike has changed over the years. The 2004-2008 and 2009-2022 versions do not necessarily take the same accessories, especially items such as screens. Select your bike’s year on this page to see only parts that fit yours, rather than assuming an item for another version will work.

If you ride both in town and on country roads, start with what you notice most: the bike’s response, your posture or the wind. That gives you a practical way to decide which accessories matter for your rides.
