Accessories for the Honda CB1000R

The Honda CB1000R is a naked road bike equally at home on a winding route or the daily commute. Those uses bring different priorities: easy operation of the controls matters in town, while longer stretches on open roads make wind protection more useful. Choosing accessories around your regular journeys helps you focus on changes you will appreciate, rather than treating every addition as essential.

What riders usually fit to the Honda CB1000R

• Screens: worth considering when a favourite riding route involves a motorway journey first. A screen helps deflect some of the airflow reaching your upper body on a naked bike, with its height and shape influencing the coverage it provides.
• Handlebars and levers: help tailor the riding position and control reach. For a CB1000R used both in stop-start traffic and on weekend rides, hand position needs to feel comfortable during repeated clutch use as well as through a series of bends.
• Protectors, crash bungs and bars: aim to reduce damage to the areas they cover in a fall. They are particularly relevant when daily riding includes tight parking spaces or moving the bike around a garage, where losing your balance can cause a stationary drop.
• Footrests: give your feet their support when riding through bends, but their role is not purely sporty. If your CB1000R also covers longer distances, think about leg comfort rather than basing your riding position entirely on short weekend outings.
• Number plate holders: offer a way to personalise the rear of the bike with a sportier look. On this naked Honda, they are primarily an appearance-led choice, rather than an addition intended to improve wind protection or riding comfort.

For overnight trips, panniers are also worth considering: carrying luggage on the bike keeps it off your back during the ride to your destination.
