Accessories for the Honda CB1000RA

The Honda CB1000RA is a naked bike that suits everyday journeys as well as rides out on the open road. Those different settings put different demands on the accessories you fit. In town, clear rearward vision and protection during low-speed manoeuvres can matter most; on a weekend ride, your riding position and the practicalities of looking after the bike come into focus. The useful additions are the ones that fit the way you actually ride it.

What riders usually fit to the Honda CB1000RA

• Mirrors: when you are filtering through town or moving between lanes, being able to see what is behind you makes a real difference. Replacement mirrors can also change the bike’s appearance while keeping that everyday job in mind.
• Protectors: a naked bike leaves parts of the motorcycle exposed, so protection is worth considering if your week involves tight parking spaces and frequent stops. These parts are intended to help protect vulnerable areas in a stationary tip-over or a fall.
• Stands and sidestands: useful when the CB1000RA is parked between rides or when you work on it at home. A stable, raised bike makes jobs such as cleaning the chain and attending to the wheels easier to manage.
• Mudguards: on wet roads, they help limit spray reaching parts of the bike. That is particularly relevant when you ride throughout the week rather than waiting for dry conditions.
• Handlebars: your position at the bars affects how the bike feels in slow traffic and through a series of bends. Think about which of those situations occupies more of your riding time before changing the setup.

Covers are another practical option if the Honda spends time parked. The right combination depends less on a particular look than on where you ride and how you use the bike between journeys.
