Accessories for the Honda CB1300S

The Honda CB1300S is a classic-styled road bike suited to weekend rides, everyday journeys and longer trips on tarmac. Setting it up for your riding means balancing wind protection, comfort at the handlebars and room for luggage. Motorway miles and winding country roads place different demands on the rider, so appearance need not be the only consideration.

What riders usually fit to the Honda CB1300S

A CB1300S used for solo Sunday rides needs a different approach from one regularly carrying a pillion on holiday. These accessory types address those uses:

• Screens: A screen helps reduce wind exposure on motorway stretches and longer road journeys. For a touring-focused CB1300S, the practical benefit is greater shelter during the miles between your favourite roads, rather than simply giving the front of the bike a different look.
• Protectors, crash bungs and crash bars: These help limit damage to the areas they cover in a low-speed fall. They are worth considering when your CB1300S combines open-road riding with town use, where parking manoeuvres and frequent stops are part of the routine.
• Handlebars and levers: These offer ways to tailor the riding position and the arrangement of the hand controls. On rides mixing bends with longer connecting stretches, a comfortable arm and wrist position matters beyond the most engaging section of road.
• Luggage: Cases provide carrying space for clothing and everyday essentials on road trips, reducing the need to ride with everything in a backpack. They become particularly useful when the CB1300S carries a pillion and you need to organise belongings for two people.

For regular touring, treat wind protection, riding position and luggage as one setup. When travelling two-up, leave room for pillion comfort as well as the belongings you want to carry.
