Accessories for the Honda CB500

The Honda CB500 is a versatile naked bike, equally at home on the daily commute and a weekend ride along winding roads. Accessories can reflect that mix of uses: handlebars to help shape your riding position, a screen for longer stretches on faster roads, or luggage to take the weight off your back when you have more to carry.

What riders usually fit to the Honda CB500

• Handlebars: a different bar can alter the position of your arms and upper body. For a CB500 used through the working week, finding a comfortable reach matters in traffic as well as when you head out onto twisty roads.
• Screens: help divert airflow away from your torso on this naked bike. They are particularly useful when a commute involves motorway miles, or when a short weekend outing becomes a longer ride with sustained stretches at open-road speeds.
• Mirrors: rearward visibility deserves attention on a CB500 that regularly switches between town streets and faster roads. Where the mirrors sit in relation to your arms affects the view behind when joining traffic or preparing to change lanes.
• Protectors: help limit damage from low-speed drops. On a bike used for everyday transport, that is a practical consideration when wheeling it out of a parking space or manoeuvring at the beginning and end of each journey.
• Panniers: provide carrying space for work essentials or an overnight trip. They suit the CB500's all-round role, giving you an alternative to wearing a rucksack throughout a longer commute and leaving your back unburdened on weekend rides.

Choosing accessories for your CB500's year

The CB500 has changed over the years, so the 1993-1998 and 1999-2004 versions need to be distinguished when choosing accessories. Parts do not necessarily fit both versions. Choose your bike's year on this page to see only the accessories that fit yours.
