Accessories for the Honda CB500 Hornet

The Honda CB500 Hornet is a naked bike suited to weekday commuting and weekend rides on winding roads. Those two uses call for different priorities. Frequent town riding puts the focus on controls and protection, while longer stretches on faster roads make managing airflow a more useful part of your setup.

What riders usually fit to the Honda CB500 Hornet

• Screens: A useful addition when your Hornet commute involves dual carriageways or your weekend route starts with a motorway stretch. A screen helps redirect airflow away from your torso, addressing a particular consideration of riding a naked bike over longer distances.
• Protectors, crash bungs and crash bars: Daily use means parking, turning around and moving the CB500 Hornet at walking pace, not just riding it on the open road. These accessories aim to limit damage to the areas they cover in a fall, rather than prevent every possible consequence.
• Levers: Stop-start traffic keeps your fingers busy with the brake and clutch. For a Hornet used around town, lever shape and the way your fingers rest against the controls deserve attention, particularly when your regular journey involves repeated stops at junctions.
• Foot pegs: Your feet provide an important point of contact when positioning yourself for a sequence of bends. On a CB500 Hornet used for weekend road rides, that support matters alongside keeping your riding position comfortable on the straighter sections between them.
• Number plate holders: These are primarily a styling choice for riders who want to personalise the rear of their naked bike. On the Hornet, changing the holder focuses on how the number plate sits within the rear-end appearance, rather than adding comfort for longer journeys.
