Accessories for the Honda CB500S

The Honda CB500S suits riders who mix everyday road use with weekend outings. A journey through town puts different demands on you from an afternoon on winding roads or a motorway stretch. Useful accessories focus on your riding position, wind protection and carrying luggage, so the bike works around the journeys you actually make.

What riders usually fit to the Honda CB500S

• Handlebars: changing the bar shape can alter your hand position and reach. On a CB500S used for both commuting and leisure rides, the aim is a comfortable posture in stop-start traffic that also feels natural when spending longer stretches on country roads.
• Screens: help deflect airflow on faster roads, making them particularly relevant if your commute includes a dual carriageway. They also deserve attention when a weekend ride begins with motorway miles before you reach the quieter roads you want to explore.
• Mirrors: provide a view of following traffic before lane changes and other manoeuvres. When your CB500S takes you from busy streets to open roads, a useful rearward view from your normal riding position matters more than appearance alone, especially if your arms obscure the reflection.
• Protectors: help shield the areas they cover from certain knocks or falls. Everyday use involves more than riding: wheeling the CB500S out of a parking space or turning it around in a confined area also makes protection worth considering.
• Luggage: gives you somewhere to carry work essentials during the week and clothing for an overnight trip at the weekend. For a CB500S serving both purposes, carrying your belongings on the bike rather than in a rucksack keeps the load off your back while riding.
