Accessories for the Honda CB500XA

The Honda CB500XA is a road-focused adventure bike suited to everyday journeys and weekend exploring. Those two uses put different demands on your accessories: town riding brings the controls and low-speed manoeuvres into focus, while longer trips make wind protection and riding position more important. A useful setup starts with how you actually divide your time between them.

What riders usually fit to the Honda CB500XA

• Screens: Motorway stretches and full days on the road make airflow around your upper body more noticeable. A screen helps redirect that air, with its height and shape worth considering when your CB500XA has to cover both short commutes and longer journeys.
• Crash bars and protectors: These help limit damage to particular areas if the bike tips over at a standstill. They are worth considering for daily parking and slow manoeuvres, especially when you also use the bike for trips with luggage.
• Handlebars and levers: Frequent braking and clutch use in traffic put the controls to work, while longer rides keep your hands in position for extended periods. Bar position and lever reach therefore matter when tailoring the riding position to suit you.
• Footrests: Moving from a short commute to several hours on country roads makes foot support more relevant. The size and position of the platform deserve attention when working towards a comfortable seated posture that still lets you reach the foot controls easily.
• Phone mounts: Navigation is useful when a weekend ride takes you beyond familiar roads. A mount keeps route guidance visible without having to stop and retrieve your phone; position it clear of the instruments and set your destination before moving off.

For mostly urban use, focus first on the controls and protection against stationary drops. For longer road trips, give more thought to the screen and the way your hands and feet are supported.
