Accessories for the Honda CBR1000RR ABS Fireblade

The Honda CBR1000RR ABS Fireblade is a sports bike suited to twisty-road rides and track days. That riding style puts the emphasis on your position, control and contact with the bike rather than luggage capacity. The most useful additions therefore depend on whether you want more shelter on the journey, protection for exposed areas or a different feel at the controls and footrests.

What riders usually fit to the Honda CBR1000RR ABS Fireblade

• Screens: a screen helps divert airflow away from your upper body on motorway stretches between favourite roads. Its height and profile also matter when you tuck in, making this a relevant choice for both road riding and track use.
• Protectors and crash protection: alternating weekend rides with track days makes protection for exposed parts worth considering. These accessories aim to limit damage during a fall or slide, rather than making the Fireblade immune to the consequences of a crash.
• Levers: reach and lever shape affect how your hands operate the controls from a forward-leaning riding position. On roads with repeated bends, a comfortable relationship between your fingers and the levers matters through frequent braking and gear changes.
• Footrests: secure boot support is important when moving your body through a sequence of corners. Footrest position and surface influence that connection with the Fireblade, as well as how tightly your legs are folded on longer road rides.
• Number plate holders: these focus on the appearance of the tail rather than your riding position. For a road-going Fireblade, the aim is to make the plate and its holder sit visually with the bike’s sporting lines.

For longer road outings, put wind protection and a sustainable riding position first. If track days dominate, rider support, controls and crash protection are more relevant priorities.
