Accessories for the Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin

The Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin suits riders who combine road touring with trips along unpaved tracks. That mix calls for more than luggage space alone. Wind protection matters on motorway stretches, while protection for exposed parts and comfortable contact points become priorities when you leave the tarmac and ride standing on the pegs.

What riders usually fit to the Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin

• Luggage: useful for keeping clothing and trip essentials organised on multi-day journeys. If your Africa Twin also spends time on trails, consider how much room the cases occupy as well as how much they hold: you still need space to move around on the bike.
• Screens: help manage airflow on long road sections, particularly when motorway miles separate the more interesting parts of a trip. For mixed-surface riding, wind coverage while seated needs to be balanced with a clear view of the ground ahead on slower tracks.
• Protectors and crash bars: help shield the areas they cover from impacts during a low-speed fall. They are especially relevant to an Africa Twin used on loose surfaces, where protection deserves attention alongside the luggage needed for the journey.
• Handlebars: the position of your hands affects your reach to the controls both seated and standing. On an adventure bike used in both situations, handlebar choice can help you work towards a riding position that suits long road stretches without feeling awkward on trails.
• Footpegs: become a key support point when you stand up and use your legs to follow the bike’s movement. For trail riding, boot grip and the supporting surface matter alongside the comfort you need for the road miles at either end of the day.

When packing for a two-up trip, leave your pillion enough room to sit comfortably and reach their footpegs without luggage getting in the way.
