Accessories for the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin

The Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin is an adventure bike suited to covering distance on the road and exploring beyond the tarmac. Luggage, wind protection and riding position all matter, but the balance depends on your routes. Touring with a pillion puts different demands on your setup from a day on unpaved tracks, where room to move around the bike becomes more important.

What riders usually fit to the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin

• Luggage: cases give you space for a multi-day trip without carrying everything in a rucksack. When travelling two-up, they help organise both riders’ belongings; for routes that include narrow tracks, the overall width also deserves consideration.
• Screens: useful for reducing wind exposure during motorway stretches and long road days. If your Africa Twin also spends time on trails, weigh up wind coverage against a clear view of the ground immediately ahead.
• Protectors: worth considering when your journeys involve loose surfaces, uneven parking spots or slow manoeuvres on tracks. They help shield the areas they cover from knocks, making protection a practical priority for riding away from the tarmac.
• Footpegs: your footing matters when switching between seated road riding and standing on the trails. Think about how your boots sit on the pegs and the stance you use, rather than treating them simply as somewhere to rest your feet.
• Handlebars: worth looking at when tailoring your riding position for touring or trail use. Hand position needs to work during long stretches in the saddle as well as when you stand up to tackle uneven ground.
