Accessories for the Honda Dominator 650

The Honda Dominator 650 is a trail bike suited to rides that move between tarmac and unpaved tracks. That mix of riding shapes what is worth fitting: dependable braking matters when the surface changes, the transmission has a part to play in everyday use, and luggage makes longer days out easier to manage. The accessories on this page cover Dominator 650 bikes from 1988 to 1991.

What riders usually fit to the Honda Dominator 650

For this bike, the useful choices are less about adding equipment for its own sake and more about how you ride it. A commute, a winding back road and a day exploring tracks place different demands on the same machine:

• Brakes: predictable braking gives you more control when slowing for a bend on the road or adjusting your speed on a loose surface. If your Dominator regularly moves between town, country lanes and tracks, this is an area that affects the feel of every ride.
• Transmission: keeping the drive working smoothly matters when you are accelerating out of bends or picking your way along an uneven track. It also matters on ordinary journeys, where a consistent response makes the bike easier to ride without demanding your attention.
• Cases: carrying waterproofs, tools or an overnight bag on the bike leaves your back free on a long ride. They make particular sense if you use the Dominator for day trips that turn into weekends away, with stretches of road and tracks along the way.

Think about the journeys you actually make before deciding what to focus on. Braking and transmission are relevant on short rides as well as long ones; luggage becomes more useful as your routes take you further from home.
